Finding Jesus In Chaos

Finding Jesus In Chaos
There are a few times of the year that are classified as pure chaos. One of these times is endearingly called “The most wonderful time of the year”. Yes, you know what it is. Christmas. There are presents to be bought and wrapped, a ham to cook, family to visit, a tree to decorate, secret santas and white elephants, and so much more. It makes your head spin just thinking about it.
So, how can we make it through the busy times in life, whether it be Christmas, summer vacation, or finals week?
This may seem really hard when you are in the midst of the chaos, but take a step back. Slow down, those 5 minutes won’t make that much of a difference. Take a deep breath, there is no need to get so worked up. Take time to be with yourself and God. Pray, meditate, journal. Give your crazy schedule over to God and rest in the fact that everything that needs to happen will happen.
No matter the season in our lives, we need to slow down and spend time with God. It is okay to take a break. It is okay to let go of the reigns. It may be hard to give your plans over to God, but once you do, a burden you didn’t know you were carrying will be lifted off your shoulders.
One of my favorite sayings is, “Give it to God and go to sleep.” I find such comfort in the fact that once I have given God my plans, worries, and problems, I don’t have to think about it anymore. They are no longer my burden to bear. So give your chaos to God and rest in the peace that will rush over you.
