Top Picks Tuesday | November 7, 2017

It’s been awhile since I’ve made one of these, but… IT”S TOP PICKS TUESDAY! If you don’t know what this is, it’s a post where I round up all of my recent favorites in movies, tv, books, fashion, food, and everything else!
My first favorite is Thor: Ragnarok! This has to be one of my favorite Marvel movies so far! It combines all that we love of Thor with the humor and space travel of Guardians! It was absolutely hilarious! My one critique is that I’m not quite sure what the point of the movie was. Yes, there was an epic battle where an evil person was defeated, but with it being the last movie before Infinty War, I was expecting a little bit more action. Despite this, it was still a fabulous movie and I will definitely be watching it 100 more times!
Are you looking for some good shows to watch on Netflix? Well, I was too, but I found 3 that I adore! The first of which is Riverdale! It is so dramatic and it keeps me on the edge of my seat (plus all of the characters are so fabulous)! The second show I love is The Good Place! It is so funny and it (surprisingly) has an amazing and complicated story line! And once I finished those, I was in a bit of a slump, so I started Parks and Rec! I was shocked by how much I liked it! If you are on the fence about it, I highly recommend going ahead and watching it!
A couple weeks ago, I ordered some green chacos. I was expecting I would like them (because why else would I order them?), but I LOVE these guys! They are so cute and go with so many of my outfits! Here’s the link to buy them!
My last favorite are these bible pages I made for my Etsy shop! I have some  in my room and they are so cute and so fun! Here’s the link to my shop!

Top Picks Tuesday | October 3, 2017

Can you guess what today is? Sure it’s Tuesday, but that’s not all! It’s Top Picks Tuesday! I haven’t done one of these in 2 weeks, so I have a lot of good stuff to share with you!
Before we get into this, this past week has been one of the worst weeks of my life. I was stressed and mourning and at some point I just stopped caring. I got a lot of bad news and had a lot to do (but didn’t do any of it, which made things worse), but I am working on getting back on track. All the things in this post either encouraged me during this time or helped me to take my mind of off things.
First, and probably most important, I finally watched Moana! I didn’t think I would enjoy it that much, but it was so cute! The story was really good and I loved the music! By the way, the chicken is my favorite character! If I was any Disney character, I would be HeiHei!
I fell in love with Come to Me by Bethel Music this week. I had always known it, but one day I was playing guitar and I found the tab for it. Since then, I have listened to it about 10 times a day! It brings me so much comfort and the song itself is absolutely beautiful!
I read The Night Circus last week and Oh My! It was amazing! I have fangirled about it in both the review and my monthly wrap-up, so I will keep this to a minimum. In short, it was one of the best books I have ever read and you need it in your life now!
2 Corinthians 1:3-7 has brought me a lot of peace lately. It talks about finding your comfort from God and has slowly become one of my favorite passages!
The Good Place Season 2 has been so good so far! I loved the first season and I didn’t think this one would be too good, but I was wrong! The story line is all over the place (in a good way) and I am really enjoying it so far!

Top Picks Tuesday | September 19, 2017

Welcome to Top Picks Tuesday, where I share all of my favorite things from the past week with you! I have had an amazing week full of amazing books, music, and food and I hope that you have too! Enjoy my top picks!
I have been listening to some bomb diggity music this week, including…
I’ll Name the Dogs by Blake Shelton (aka the cutest song I have ever heard!)
Amen by Matthew West (my #1 Christian Pop Bop for this week!)
Turn by Eyes by Bonray (an awesome poppy worship song!)
Hola by Hollyn (the fun new release from the queen herself!)
Life Changes Album by Thomas Rhett (my favorite country album to exist- so far!)

These Pancakes are the bomb dot com! I eat them with peanut butter and banana for breakfast and they are amazing! They are whole wheat and made with yogurt, so it is super healthy (but still delicious)!
I just finished the Six of Crows Duology and these books are fabulous! It is some of the best writing, world building, and character development I have read recently! I’m working on a full review, so stay tuned for that!
I have been loving the Coffee and Bible Time Youtube Channel since I’ve had a lot of time to watch Youtube recently. These girls are so amazing and encouraging! I would highly recommend going and checking out some of their videos!

OOTW: Homecoming Week | Top Picks Tuesday

Hey y’all! This past week was my Homecoming week, so I figured I would do my Top Picks Tuesday on what I wore that week! I had so much fun getting dressed up every day! It made the week 100x more fun! Also, our Homecoming was super early, so hopefully y’all still have time and can get some ideas!

Monday’s theme was Amerca! I wore black nike shorts and a T shirt (from Walmart, I think) that says “All American Jesus Loving Girl”. I wore my chacos with mismatched blue and white socks, a denim shirt, USA mardi gras beads and my cowgirl hat (from a local farm). This day was by far my favorite, mostly because of the hat!

The next day was “When I Grow Up”. This picture is hard to see (sorry), but I decided to be a basic preppy mom! I was wearing navy blue shorts and a white sweater, both from JC Penny. I wore my pearl set and my mom’s leather shoes and belt. It isn’t exactly what I’m striving for when I grow up, but it was fun!

Thursday was decades day! I’m not really sure what decade this ended up being, but I was going for flower child-y vibes. I wore a yellow t-shirt from my church and my overalls from Target. In each pocket of my overalls, I put some fake flowers and I wore my tie-dye boho bandeau with chacos!

Friday was class colors, which are white, blue, and black. My class was supposed to be just white, but I just went for all of them! I’m wearing a baseball tee from a retreat, black nike shorts, and my chacos. I put handprints on my legs with blue and black acrylic paints!
That’s it for the week itself because it was a four day week, but the theme of our game was Space Out. I don’t have a picture, but I got a star wars t-shirt from Target! I got it from the boys section and it was $10 cheaper, so I highly recommend checking to see if you can wear a kids size before buying a more expensive shirt!

Now for the dance! I wore a dress from Dillards that I love! It is blue and sparkly! My shoes are from the clearance section of Macy’s. As you can see, they have a slight heel, but my feet didn’t hurt a bit! Saturday was by far the best day of the week because I got to spend 8 hours with all of best friends, listening to Thomas Rhett’s new album (which is for sure a Top Pick) and eating a lot of food!

When is your homecoming? Comment down below because I would love to know!

August Wrap Up and September TBR

Wow! It’s crazy that August is already over! This month, I read 4 books, which isn’t too bad, but not as good as I was hoping for. Since I was participating in #TheReadingQuest I was hoping to read more, but I enjoyed what I was able to read this month!
The first two books I had to read were for class. They were Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston and A History of the World in 6 Glasses. I did not enjoy either and have already ranted a decent amount about them on this blog, so I’m just going to leave it at that. Both received 2/5 stars.
Then, I read A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir and I loved it!  5/5 stars! It was everything I wanted and more! I have a full review on this blog, so go check it out!
Lastly, I read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and wow, this book was perfection! I loved the characters, the world, the plot, just everything! I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy a few years ago and didn’t love it, so my expectations for this weren’t too high. But boy was I wrong, this book was amazing! 5/5 stars!
In September, I am setting the bar rather low. I hope to read Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas, which is my most anticipated release for the year. After that, I am going to reread Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake and then move on to One Dark Throne, my second most anticipated release for this year!

What did you read in August and what are you planning on reading in September? Comment down below because I would love to hear from you!

Top Picks Tuesday | August 29, 2017

It’s that time of the week again! Happy Top Picks Tuesday! This is a series where I share all of my food, beauty, fashion, music, and entertainment favorites from the past week!
The best moisturizer ever is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+. I’ve been using this stuff for a while, but I am loving it a little extra this week! My skin has been so dry, but this is a life saver! I love it!
My new favorite snack is the Lesser Evil Himalayan Sweetness popcorn! If you remember a few weeks ago when I was obsessing over their Avocado Oil popcorn you would know that I love that stuff. But, guess what? This stuff is even better! It is the perfect blend of salty and sweet! So, get yo’self over to Publix and buy yo’self a bag of heaven!
Unforgettable by Thomas Rhett is my top country song of the past week! I’m sure I’ve listened to it at least 5 times a day for the past 7 days. It is just so good!
Love Won’t Let Me Down by Hillsong Young and Free is my top christian song of the week! Hillsong Young and Free never fails to release the best music ever!
My new favorite pens are the Ink Joy Minis! I started using these in my agenda and they are perfect! They come in so many colors and are the perfect size to throw into my backpack! 10/10 would recommend!
Last week, I read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and wow! It was amazing! Definitely a 5/5 star read! The characters were perfect, the pacing was just right, the world building was done beautifully, and the writing was simply elegant! I loved it!

Top Picks Tuesday | August 15, 2017

Hello and welcome to Top Picks Tuesday! This is where I wrap up my week and have an appreciation party for all the things that helped me to survive! This past week, I went back to school and it was honestly one of the most chaotic weeks of my life. There was something going on everyday and I just felt exhausted by the time I finally sat down for a break. So, these are all of the things that make this week slightly easier, slightly better, slightly more, well,  joyful!
First off, I have two songs to share with you this week that I have been loving! The first is “Gracefully Broken” by Matt Redman and the second is “Street Called Mercy” by Hillsong United. These songs were so encouraging to me this past week! (Bonus song! I have started listening to Mandisa’s “Shackles” every morning right when I wake up and it is by far the best way to start your day!)
Another great way to begin your day is with a new devotional! Last week I was working on the Rend Collective devotional by YouVersion and I loved it! It tied together their songs with a relevant devotion and scripture. Then, in the past couple days, I have been doing I Want to Grow in Grace: Devotions From a Time of Grace and so far it has been convicting and powerful and important. If you are looking for a meaningful bible study that will change your outlook on life, then I would highly suggest this one!
Now, for my food favorites! I have been searching for the perfect protein bar lately, and I found a fabu little bar called The GFB! They come in two flavors, chocolate peanut butter and cranberry toasted almond. They are gluten free, vegan, non-GMO, and more good things, plus they are tasty! I would highly recommend these!
Before school started, I got two new pairs of Levis and boy-oh-boy do I love these babies! They are so comfy and look so good on me! Everyone needs a few good pairs of jeans, and these are mine! I could literally live in them!

Top Picks Tuesday | August 8, 2017

It’s the best time of the week! It’s Top Picks Tuesday! This is where I pick out some the things I have been loving for the past week and talk a little about them! So, let’s get into my top picks!
Last weekend, I got a new Vera Bradley Agenda. I had one a few years ago, but then I came to the Lilly side. But, once more I have a Vera Bradley one and since I started school yesterday, I am already loving it!
So, I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with french pop music and my favorite band recently has been Arcadian! My favorite song right now is C’est que tu m’as appris! Even if you don’t understand it, you should go listen to it.
So maybe French pop isn’t your thing, well I discovered the Wild Country playlist on Spotify this past week and this is by far the best pre-made country playlist on Spotify! It has all of my favorite songs and has all around good vibes. Again, go listen to it right now.
Confession time! I love crime TV shows! Some favorites are NCIS, Hawaii 5 0, Bones, Psych, Burn Notice, and Castle! Anyways, I have been delaying starting NCIS season 14, but it has been so good! I thought that based off of the end of season 13, this one would be lacking, but they jumped in and are doing an awesome jobs so far!

Top Picks Tuesday | August 1, 2017

Top Picks Tuesday is a weekly tag where I share all of my favorite things with you! This can include music, blogs, foods, clothes, books... basically anything that makes me happy!
The #1 thing I have been loving this past week is my chacos! (If you look above, you can see my endearing chaco tan) I was working as a camp counselor last week and these babies SAVED my feet! They are perfect for hiking, lake time, tubing, football, gymnastics, even dance offs! P. S. @chacousa, please sponsor me! ; )
Last Saturday, I had the epic opportunity to see Tenth Avenue North in concert and since then, I have been blasting their music non-stop! My favorite from this album has to be "Control- Somehow You Want Me." In my dad's words, "That concert was so lit, it's like the rapture occurred."
On the thread of music, I heard the song  "Ain't Nobody"  by Sidewalk Prophets last week, and boy oh boy, this song is amazing! Please drop everything you are doing and go listen to it! It is fab-u-lous!
Recently, I got a double nest ENO and I have been able to use it so much this past week, since I was at camp and such! Y'all, this puppy is literally the best! Above is a picture of me chillin' like a villain in my ENO!
I have also really gotten into Boho Bandeaus lately! They are great for summer because you are running around sweating, but your hair still looks so cute! (I may or may not have gone out and bought like, 5 of them...) (I also may or may not be wearing one in the above picture...)
Yesterday, I discovered something completely magical! Popcorn! Now, I know you are thinking, I know what popcorn is, Katie. Yeah, but have you ever had Lesser Evil Buddha Bowl Foods Himalayan Pink Organic Popcorn‎? (That was a mouth full) I tried it for the first time and it is now my favorite snack! Go to Publix and get yo' self a bag, you won't regret it!
All-righty- rudy! Those are all of my picks for this week! What have you been loving recently? Go ahead and comment down below, I would love to hear from you!
